I'm turning 30 in less than a month. THEN I'm going on my first mission trip a tinsy bit over a month after that! I have a lot of milestones coming at me within the next year. I think it's time to up my game. I joined the YMCA in Febuary with my roommate and have been going the most I have ever gone to a gym. I hit a rough patch three weeks ago-ish. I started taking Lipo 6 Black Hers (Fat burner) & SomnaPure (sleep aide) and two weeks later I had a humongous full body allergic reaction. I've stopped taking those supplements and the itching has subsided. The following week (first week in May) I was hit with some crazy flu-like stuff. I was bed ridden for 3 days and off of work for 4. I believe I lost close to 8 pounds that week. Once I got over that, I've been waiting to get some symbolance of strength back so that I don't just collapse at the gym. That should have been a week. Yeah, I didn't go this week at all. I've had my gym bag packed in my trunk the entire week. I was aiming to work out after work. (Keep in mind that I work 3rd shift.) I thought I could consistantly work out every day if I only did it after work. This is proof to myself that I'm just not interested in that. So. Now, I will be looking at my schedule and making plans to go in the afternoon and what that looks like with my current sleep schedule. Wish me luck!

10 days!

It's been 10 days since I opened this blog and published it's first post. What have I done since then!?

Well ... I exercised, once. Yesterday. It was good. I realize that I need to get crosstrainers rather than my walking shoes for the aerobics I do at home. I did try to play my copies of the Zumba workout but apparently they are not in the right format for the PS3 or the Wii to play them. Only the HD drive on the Xbox 360 has played them so far, but my husband went to stay with his parents and took our 360 console with him. Bastard. =)

I have looked into some various diet plans and websites. I signed up for SparkPeople. So far I have made my profile and am reading the emails but I'm not too involved with groups or other things on the site because I feel I haven't done anything to start tracking or what not. There is one diet plan I am hoping to get my hands on within the next week or so. It promises to work with a hormone that I know is working against my weight loss efforts. We'll see how it goes. I'll be sure to post a review of it here.

Ooooh I tried my hand at baking last weekend. I made two batches of scones and only one actually came out right. In hind sight, I should have put more dried cranberries in them and used less flour to dust them. I figure almost any cooking I do at home HAS to be better than the heavily processed crap you find in the grocery store or that you can get through the drive thru. Right??? This is an exercise to get me into the habit of cooking. Once I get used to cooking more frequently, then I can start learning to modify recipes to be more healthy or just choose the healthier ones.

UGH!!! This Sucks.

I admit. I'm horrible at blogging. I never feel ... motivated ... to write anything. I don't feel motivated to do a lot of things a lot of the time. I do desperately want to lose weight. I desperately want to love healither food, exercising, and cooking. HOWEVER ... I don't like the starting up process.

So .... Welcome to my Starting Up Is Hard To Do blog!

I thought if I had a place to write stuff down, maybe it would make me feel better. Who knows, maybe I will find some new friends along the way to fitness. It just sounds like a lot of work. =P Help cheer me on?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://hardstart.blogspot.com/2009/11/ugh-this-sucks.html' title='UGH!!!
